Stop Motion and Logo Explanation
I designed my logo based on who I think I am or would like to be. Hence the name Madusa. I created this name based off the Greek Mythology character Medusa.
I also didn’t want to get copy righted so I changed the name to Madusa instead of Medusa.
Medusa was a young nymph that caught the attention of Poseidon. He fell in love with Medusa and wanted to be with her because of her beauty and had a love affair. Athena later found out and cursed Medusa.
The curse was to get rid of Medusa’s beauty so that no other man would fall for her. Athena turned her into a beast and gave her a head full of snakes. Anyone who would look upon her would instantly turn to stone.
In modern times, Medusa is often seen as a symbol of feminism. She is often used as an indicator for those who want to reclaim their identity that was stolen from them. As a feminist I resonate with the meaning behind Medusa.
When creating a platform I would like to represent my beliefs and ideologies. I would like my company to be a safe place for everyone and give them the freedom to express their individuality.
Stop Motion Explained:
For my stop motion I wanted to incorporate something very simple. I utilized a dark theme because Medusa doesn’t give off bright and colorful.
I had a few difficulties when making the video because I was struggling to edit it. So I thought the simpler I made it the easier it will be to edit. To do that I printed out my logo and cut it into pieces and laid it on a blank grey surface.
I laid out the images one by one and used a stop motion app to execute my final product.
